Access and Prioritization
- All Cancer Center members have access to the Transgenic Mouse Facility. There is currently no backlog. Requests from other institutions are welcomed.
- Requests for service are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to Cancer Center members with peer-reviewed funding. The TMF also offers services to outside investigators (including Wistar & Thomas Jefferson University, as well as other institutions nationwide), but priority is always with Cancer Center members. The Facility provides users with a guide to services and fees, instructions for preparation of DNA constructs, and request forms for all services via the FCCC internal website.
- The Facility provides guidance on preparation of DNA constructs for microinjection. Consultations can be scheduled with the TMF Director and/or Manager.
- For transferring of samples between locations, FCCC has arranged for a carrier. The common carrier makes deliveries to all three Cancer Center Campuses at predetermined rates and within 24 hours of a pickup service request with the carrier.
