Light Microscopy Services

The rapid pace of gene discovery over the past decade has significantly expanded efforts to characterize gene function at the molecular, biochemical and cellular levels. High resolution microscopy is an essential tool for characterizing gene and protein functions at the cellular and sub-cellular levels. The Light Microscopy component of Biological Imaging provides users with equipment and training that allows them to monitor cell behavior in real time, and visualize cellular proteins with high spatial and temporal resolution. This facility provides all Cancer Center investigators with a robust suite of imaging technologies, including confocal microscopy, live cell imaging, multiphoton imaging, and image acquisition and processing software for deconvolution microscopy, along with the expertise required to use these tools.
