The Division of Pulmonary, Sleep and Critical Care Medicine offers comprehensive and state of the art diagnostic and therapeutic services to all its patients. The physicians work closely with respiratory therapists (RT’s) and registered nurses with specialized pulmonary and critical care training to provide personalized and compassionate care to their patients.
An Inpatient Consultative Service provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and management of pulmonary disorders in patients admitted to the medical and surgical services of the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
The Ambulatory Pulmonary Clinic located in the Young Pavilion provides outpatient consultation to patients with a broad range of pulmonary and sleep disorders.
A state-of-the-art Pulmonary Function Laboratory performs comprehensive assessments of lung function. Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT’s) provides various physiologic indices of lung function that is frequently used for the assessment and monitoring of lung diseases. It is also a frequent component of a thorough preoperative pulmonary evaluation for high risk pulmonary patients undergoing general anesthesia and surgery.
The pulmonologists collaborate closely with other multidisciplinary members of the Thoracic Oncology Program including thoracic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and radiologists to provide comprehensive evaluations and recommendations to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible in a personalized and compassionate setting.

The Interventional Pulmonology (IP) Section offers procedural expertise and utilizes state-of-the-art technologies including Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) and Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy (ENB) to provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options for a variety of pulmonary and pleural disorders. Interventional Pulmonologists provide advanced bronchoscopic procedural expertise that is crucial to the diagnosis and treatment of several cancer and non-cancer related conditions affecting the lungs and chest.
The Sleep Disorders Center at Fox Chase / Jeanes Campus provides a broad range of services for patients with sleep disorders and insomnia (with a special focus on the complex interaction of sleep disorders and cancer). The Sleep Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and is equipped to perform both overnight and home sleep studies to evaluate for sleep apnea, insomnias and a variety of other sleep related disorders.
