Our nurses strive to provide compassionate, patient-centered, and up-to-date care. Nursing professional development opportunities prepare healthcare personnel for current and future roles and help individuals adapt with an ever-changing healthcare environment. Furthermore, it encourages interprofessional education and collaboration, allowing nurses to become champions of scientific inquiry by promoting the generation and dissemination of new knowledge and the use of evidence to influence practice and improve patient care.

- Transition To Practice Program- An opportunity for new-to-practice registered nurses with less than one year of professional experience as they transition to the bedside. The year-long orientation program fosters the professional development of the new graduate, encouraging them to master each step gradually while building confidence. Our multi-tier, competency-based curriculum eases their transition into the RN role before advancing to instruction on oncology nursing. All nurse residents will further enhance professional development by completing an evidence-based practice project that relates to their specific area of expertise.
- Nurse Externship-- A 10-week program for rising nursing seniors that aims to improve clinical skills, broaden understanding of healthcare delivery, and connect theory to real-life, clinical solutions. Externs will shadow Registered Nurses for the entirety of the program for a front-row seat to patient care and advocacy. They will also attending weekly seminars and conduct an educational project at the completion of the program.
- “Success Pays” and “FreeTake” Programs-- available for nurses pursuing specialty certification free of charge through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation. Nurses can achieve certifications in specialties such as ambulatory care nursing, medical-surgical nursing, oncology nursing, and more!
