Alexander Kutikov, MD, FACS, has been appointed the new Chief of the Division of Urologic Oncology in the Department of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Kutikov joined the Department of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase after completing a Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship at the Center. 

For some men who need a prostate biopsy to test for prostate cancer, Fox Chase Cancer Center offers an alternative approach that is safer, with significantly lower risks of infection, and potentially higher rate of tumor detection.

Robert Uzzo, MD, FACS, Chair of the Department of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, is the recipient of the President’s Distinguished Service Award from the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO). 

Phillip Abbosh, MD, PhD, assistant research professor at FCCC and a graduate of Fox Chase’s Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship Program, was presented with an award for his bladder cancer research at the Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association in Boston in May.

Miki Haifler, MD, just completed his urologic oncology fellowship at Fox Chase. Haifler knew he wanted a field that incorporated both major and minor surgery, and offered a rich clinic experience for him to interact with patients on a personal level. He believes urology and urologic oncology are unique in this respect.
