Unrestricted Operating Fund
Donations to the Support Our Strength Fund at Fox Chase Cancer center are perhaps the most vitally important gifts we receive. This general operating fund provides a reliable source of philanthropic dollars to be used where and when they are needed most. The nature of our work necessitates access to resources to best serve our community with constant flexibility, whether for an influx in cancer patients or in cases where sick individuals get sicker. With unrestricted funds, we can be sure to have the financial ability to meet the needs of our patients by recruiting a larger nursing staff, providing ample beds and chairs for patients and their families, and advancing the research of our scientists, who are constantly working to discover the next breakthrough in oncology.
Research
Research is the future of cancer care. Scientists at Fox Chase dedicate their lives to better understanding the disease to impact prevention, diagnosis, treatment, quality of life, and increased survival rates. Our goal is to both initiate groundbreaking ideas in cancer research as well as incorporate those successful endeavors into our clinical work. Your philanthropic support could jumpstart research in a lab that results in life saving therapies down the road.
Patient Resources
In addition to the diagnosis itself, the cancer journey can be trying for patients physically, mentally, and emotionally. Fox Chase is committed to offering resources that bring relief during this difficult time. Patient resources range from hats and gloves for patients who have recently undergone chemotherapy to support groups for individuals to gather with those who share their diagnosis. Fox Chase also offers spiritual resources, such as the Center’s chapel, providing interfaith services in a variety of languages. These are just a few of the patient resources at Fox Chase that thrive and grow with your philanthropic support.
Patients and their families can also find The Philip E. and Naomi P. Lippincott Patient Resource Education Center, where books, pamphlets, online tools and more are available, along with on-site staff and volunteers versed in the materials to help individuals learn more about cancer.
Clinical Care
As a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, Fox Chase is not only a hub for innovative research, but also a trusted center of excellence for clinical care. Philanthropy helps us stay on the cutting edge of available technologies, equipment, and treatment options so that survival rates can increase, and patients’ and survivors’ quality of life can flourish. Donors interested in impacting bedside efforts are vital to our everyday efforts, contributing to changes that can take place today.
Education and Training
Fox Chase is a robust center for nursing education and training as well as for postdoctoral, medical student, and undergraduate trainees in clinical and research fields, offering them a rich and supportive learning environment.
The Center has consistently ranked in the top 10 places for postdoctoral training in the United States. These programs provide training in not only in our labs and clinics, but in presentation and communication skills, scientific writing, networking and career planning. Training programs are vital for these young people so they can become the next world-class leaders in oncology.
Additionally, our expert faculty is able to provide our nursing staff and colleagues in the community at large with oncology related educational programs that are current, comprehensive and contain content that is transferrable to their practice settings.
By funding these opportunities at Fox Chase, you are helping the future leaders, scientists, and caregivers and impacting their ability to deliver world-class cancer care.
Endowed Funds
Endowed funds provide donors the opportunity to support contributor-intended purposes on a variety of levels in perpetuity. Donors may choose the designation for these funds, ensuring financial sustainability to causes important to them. Institutional priorities that can be funded by endowments include, but are not limited to: patient care, programmatic support, awards, lectureships, fellowships, and research. In addition to these opportunities, philanthropy can fund Endowed Chairs. These vital commitments offer world-class leaders on Fox Chase’s renowned faculty the resources to pursue promising efforts in their areas of expertise at their discretion. Due to the trust and confidence illustrated by donors of these funds, it is a coveted privilege to hold an Endowed Chair and helps the Institution ensure retention and attraction of the greatest minds in cancer research and care around the world.
In order to establish a new Endowed fund there is required minimum amount. Please contact Institutional Advancement for more information and the current funding requirements.

Capital Projects
With Fox Chase’s renowned reputation as experts in cancer care and research, the Institution is constantly growing. To accommodate the growing numbers of patients, new and better equipment, additional labs to research trailblazing ideas, and more, our facilities need expansion and remodeling. In recent years, Fox Chase has opened an on-campus retail pharmacy and The Marian and Emma Brungard Surgical Family Waiting Suite. Currently, the Center is moving forward on the remodel and expansion of our busy infusion room. Gifts to capital projects like these allow us to bolster our Institution, thus supporting the needs of our patients and community.
