My passion for Oncology started when my grandmother was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. I watched her go through the limited treatment options that were available and eventually succumb to the disease. I saw the care and compassion the nurses had when they took care of her at the end of her life and I knew I was ready to start a new career.
I graduated from Alvernia Universuty with my BSN as my second degree. I was fortunate to start in the Oncology field after graduation. I worded on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Hershey Medical Center and immediately fell in love with Hematology. After Hershey, I spend 10 years at Tower Health Reading, working on the inpatient oncology unit and outpatient infusion center before transitioning to Hematology Nurse Navigation.
I accepted my position as the Hematology Nurse Navigator at Fox Chase to expand my knowledge in the field. I have been blessed to work alongside a caring knowledgeable multidisciplinary team. The new treatments and options for hematology patients is ever changing and I am excited to see this area grow.
