‘We Are Fox Chase’ Video Offers Insight into What Makes Fox Chase Special

Fox Chase Press Release
Fox Chase Cancer Center employees featured in “We Are Fox Chase” gathered with members of Fox Chase’s senior leadership for a special preview screening of the new video, ahead of the October 29 Town Hall, where the video made its formal premiere.

“When I first saw the video, I was so emotional because my journey started as a patient,” said Felicita Beideman, a guest services ambassador at Fox Chase Cancer Center. “I can’t believe I’m here today and I’m a part of this.”

This is the Fox Chase mission—to prevail over cancer, bringing forth both discovery and delivery in support of patients and their families. Some of the people who dedicate themselves to this mission are featured in a new video, called “We Are Fox Chase.”

The video, which premiered at Fox Chase’s Town Hall on October 29, 2024, showcases what makes Fox Chase special as told by those who are living its mission. In it, employees from departments and units throughout the Center describe their sense of belonging, opportunities for advancement, and the satisfaction of working at a world-class cancer center that ‘never stops’ seeking new ways to improve and save lives.

“The great thing about Fox Chase is that we’re all pulling together,” said nurse Tyler Loc, BSN, RN, in the video. “One patient is everyone’s patient.”

“The people in the video are the welcoming faces I see around our campus,” noted cytology supervisor Taryn Waraksa-Deutsch, DHSc, SCT(ASCP), CMIAC, LSSGB. “This sense of being approachable and helpful makes our Center a comfortable place for our patients and their families during what can be a very stressful time. It also makes coming to work a joy.”

Hours of prep work, interviews, and filming over many months went into the project. A special reception, attended by senior leadership, was held on October 9 to preview the 6-minute video and to recognize the staff members who worked with Fox Chase’s Marketing team to produce it.

“‘We Are Fox Chase’ is about everybody here,” said President and CEO Robert Uzzo, MD, MBA, FACS. “What sets us apart at Fox Chase is our people.”

“Each of you has something special that makes Fox Chase such an inspiring place to work,” added senior marketing manager Melissa Schrier. “It was important to us in working on this project to convey this idea.”

Along with the newly released “We Never Stop” video, “We Are Fox Chase” will become an integral part of recruitment and onboarding of new employees as well as an inspiring way to affirm the important mission of everyone in the Fox Chase Cancer Center community.
