Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Disha Sawhney Recognized With Future Five Award From Medical Group Management Association

PHILADELPHIA (November 11, 2024) — Disha Sawhney, FACHDM, FRSPH, Manager of Service Line Operations at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was recently awarded a 2024 Future Five Award by Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

“It is a distinct honor to be recognized with this award among my peers,” said Sawhney. “I am grateful to work alongside several leaders at Fox Chase who never cease to inspire me. I am deeply committed to continuing to drive meaningful improvements that enhance patient care and support the broader goals of our organization. The Future Five Award is given by MGMA annually and recognizes five professionals within the first few years of their career who have had a positive influence on their organization or the industry. To be selected for this award, professionals must demonstrate that they have been a catalyst for positive change in medical practice management and have inspired others to make meaningful changes in the healthcare community.

In her role at Fox Chase, Sawhney oversees the GI and GU oncology service lines and leads improvement initiatives. In this capacity, she seeks to enhance the quality of care for cancer patients through sustainable improvements that align with the goals of the institution.  

“Driven by a commitment to continuous self-improvement, Disha actively engages in knowledge-sharing endeavors with colleagues and peers alike. Her analytical acumen is evident in her regular review of data, process flows, and bottlenecks, enabling her to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency,” her nominating letter noted.

MGMA is an organization of professionals who lead medical practices. Since its creation in 1926, it has helped healthcare professionals create meaningful change through advocacy, data, and insights. Currently, more than 60,000 medical practice administrators, executives, and leaders within MGMA represent more than 15,000 organizations delivering almost half of the healthcare in the United States.

Sawhney was presented with the award at the 2024 MGMA Leaders Conference, which was held recently in Denver. 

Fox Chase Cancer Center (Fox Chase), which includes the Institute for Cancer Research and the American Oncologic Hospital and is a part of Temple Health, is one of the leading comprehensive cancer centers in the United States.
