PHILADELPHIA (July 25, 2024) — Fox Chase Cancer Center was recently recognized by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) as a Surgical Quality Partner through participation in the organization’s Commission on Cancer and National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP).
The ACS NSQIP is a data registry designed to improve hospital-wide quality across all surgical departments. It helps teams make informed decisions about the improvement of quality of care while reducing complications and costs.
“We are gratified to have been recognized as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner. We have a long-standing history of participation in numerous quality programs through the ACS and are committed to providing the highest quality surgical care for our patients,” said Stephanie Greco, MD, FACS, Director of Surgical Quality and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase.
“With this designation we hope to demonstrate our dedication to such programs and our drive to provide the best surgical experience and outcomes for our cancer community,” she added.
“ACS quality programs are grounded in more than a century of experience, and participation is an important measure of a hospital’s surgical quality,” said ACS Executive Director & CEO Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS. “As an ACS Surgical Quality Partner, Fox Chase Cancer Center has shown a commitment to providing the best possible patient care, evaluating that care in a rigorous fashion, and dedicating themselves to continuous self-improvement.”

Recognition as a Surgical Quality Partner assures patients that they can expect the highest quality care driven by data, expert input, and proven processes.
Fox Chase emphasizes offering varied and supportive training environments as well as being part of the rich scientific and biotech environment in the Philadelphia region. The center works to foster an environment conducive to strong collaboration across all disciplines, from basic to translational research to top-notch clinical care.
