PHILADELPHIA (November 12, 2018) – Press Ganey has formally recognized Fox Chase Cancer Center with its 2018 Guardian of Excellence Award for outstanding clinical performance by physicians and support staff in its outpatient clinics.
This award is given annually to practices that sustain performance in the top five percent of Press Ganey clients throughout the four quarters of the award year. Performance data comes from the Clinician and Group Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CGCAHPS) survey, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through its Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), since 2007.
CGCAHPS is a standardized tool that measures patients’ perception of care provided by physicians in an office setting. It is a sister survey to the more well-known HCAHPS survey, which focuses on inpatient hospital care. The current version of the CGCAHPS survey includes 31 core questions for patients, and is viewed as the industry benchmark for patient assessment of healthcare providers.
“I would like to commend the Fox Chase Medical Group for its exceptional performance in the CGCAHPS survey, which led to this recognition,” said Richard I. Fisher, MD, president and CEO of Fox Chase.
Press Ganey is an independent market leader in helping healthcare institutions measure patient satisfaction and better understand the patient experience.
