Fox Chase Cancer Center to Raise Funds at Miles for Melanoma Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (October 2, 2017) – As part of its ongoing commitment to community health, Fox Chase Cancer Center is the local presenting sponsor of the 2017 Miles for Melanoma Philadelphia. Faculty and staff, volunteers, patients, survivors, and their families will come together at this family-friendly 5K run/walk to raise funds to support melanoma research, education, and advocacy through the Melanoma Research Foundation. The run/walk starts at 8 a.m. at the Philadelphia Zoo on Saturday, Oct. 7. Check-in and registration begin at 7:00 a.m.

“Fox Chase is excited to again be a leading force in Miles for Melanoma Philadelphia to support the Melanoma Research Foundation’s efforts to help everyone prevail over melanoma,” said Jeffrey M. Farma, MD, associate professor of surgical oncology and codirector of the Melanoma Program at Fox Chase. 

“We are grateful to have Fox Chase as a strong supporter of the Melanoma Research Foundation’s efforts to raise funds for new research and more treatment options,” said Steve Silverstein, chairman of the Melanoma Research Foundation board of directors. “The institution and individual people are very important to our work.”
