PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 25, 2013)—Charu Sharma, MD, MS, has joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. She sees patients at Virtua Fox Chase Cancer Center Radiation Oncology in Washington Township, N.J.—a member of the Fox Chase Cancer Center Partners program—providing community-based radiation therapy in a general practice setting.
Dr. Sharma’s expertise includes a special interest in breast cancer treatment and research. She earned her medical degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed her residency in radiation oncology at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Sharma also holds a master’s degree in nutritional science from the University of Connecticut.
The Partners Program consists of a select group of community-based hospitals in Pennsylvania and New Jersey whose cancer programs are affiliated with Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. The Partners program promotes timely translation of research findings to ensure patients have access to the latest advances in cancer care and treatment.
