Doylestown, PA (January 31, 2013)—The Bucks County Chapter of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Board of Associates—a group of volunteers who support patient care and cancer research at Fox Chase—will be hosting an elegant gala called “April in Vienna” on April 20, 2013 at Spring Mill Manor (171 Jacksonville Road, Ivyland, PA).
The event will be reminiscent of a night at the Vienna Opera House and will include cocktails, dinner, and live and silent auctions. Violinist Solomiya Ivakhiv, a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and principal violinist of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, will perform in a string quartet to entertain guests.
“Everyone had a terrifically entertaining evening at last year’s ‘April in Florence,’ and thanks to their generosity, we raised $200,000 for Fox Chase Cancer Center,” said Dan Levin, president of the Bucks County Chapter, Board of Associates. “We’re raising the bar in 2013; with an exhilarating event for our participants and with a higher goal of funds that we can present to the premier cancer center in our region.”
Tickets are $150 per person until March 31 ($160 per person after that date). An individual or company may purchase an advertisement in the event program until February 21. Please visit www.bccfccc.org for more information on advertising.
This year’s Special Pledge will raise funds to fight pancreatic cancer, one of the most deadly forms of the disease. Funds from the pledge will assist Fox Chase researchers as they work towards eradicating this fatal disease. The rest of the funds from the event will be designated to other specific cancer research projects at Fox Chase.
Sponsorships are available, and those funds enable 100% of money raised by the gala to go directly to cancer research. Current sponsors include CRW Graphics, which is contributing all printed material, Airgas, Inc., Robert and Jane Toll Foundation, Lisa James Otto Country Properties, R. Reginald and Betty Ann Bishop, Frances Finkle, Monument Bank, and Fulton Bank. Media sponsors are the Bucks County Herald and Natural Awakenings, Bucks & Montgomery Edition.
