PHILADELPHIA (October 9, 2012)—Come join Lindsay Fullerton, 12-year-old cancer advocate, and her dog pal Schuylkill at Fox Chase Cancer Center’s annual charity dog walk—Paws for the Cause—as they walk to raise funds to support the effort to prevail over cancer. The event takes place Sunday, October 21, at 10:30 a.m. (registration at 9:30 a.m.) on Fox Chase’s Northeast Philadelphia campus (333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia). Participants will enjoy a one-mile walk with their dogs around the Center grounds, as well as contests, prizes, giveaways, and shopping as local vendors showcase their wares.
“When I heard about Paws for the Cause, I knew I wanted to get involved as an ambassador for the people I love who have been affected by cancer,” Lindsay said.
Registration for this year’s Paws for the Cause event will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 21, and the walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. For a $25 registration fee ($30 on-site), participants will receive one T-shirt and doggie bag filled with great treats. Participants can also pick up freebies from one of the many vendors that will be at the walk.
