PHILADELPHIA (October 5, 2012)—BJ’s Wholesale Club will be hosting a FREE Pink Picnic for the community on Wednesday, October 10 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at its Conshohocken location (300 Alan Wood Road). Those attending the event will hear from Fox Chase Cancer Center medical oncologist Paula Ryan, MD, PhD, about advances in breast cancer screening, treatment and prevention. Local breast cancer survivor Sonia Smith will also share her cancer experience.
At the picnic BJ’s will also unveil their "Pink Ribbon" club merchandise that it will sell throughout the month of October. Proceeds from these products will go towards supporting the BJ's Charitable Foundation—which will distribute funds to 14 National Cancer Institute designated cancer centers, including Fox Chase Cancer Center.
The Pink Picnic is FREE and open to the public. All attendees will receive complimentary refreshments and a gift bag.
