Treatment Philosophy

I have worked in oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center for 25 years, starting as a nurse in the inpatient setting, then 14 years in chemotherapy infusion administration.  During that time, I have experienced many patients with fears, anxieties, questions and need for information regarding their cancer, chemotherapy and how to manage the potential side effects of treatment.

I've seen how dedicated Fox Chase Cancer Center is in provided quality care and I wanted the experience of working in an academic cancer center.  Fox Chase was the perfect fit for me.

My area of special interest is in women's health, chemotherapy, and patient education.  Fox Chase allows me to pursue my goal to support women who are facing the challenges of fighting their cancer, to provide them information and make evidenced based recommendations that will help them through their journey.

I feel honored to be a part of my patients' health care team, and to work collaboratively with the top doctors, pharmacists and Magnet-designated nurses in today's oncology.  To see firsthand the progress being made in oncology through research is amazing, and I believe that everyone deserves the highest quality of individualized, holistic, quality of care.

I love shopping. I collect handbags, jewelry, shoes, and luxury items, and I love high-end designers. It’s what you buy when you celebrate milestones. I have a YouTube channel—Dawn Loves Couture—and I use it to post unboxings and reviews of the items I buy. It’s like shopping with friends. But I had to put that all on hold when I was diagnosed with cancer.

  • Breast Cancer
  • Uterine Sarcoma

For decades, my healthcare routine was the same: When I scheduled my annual mammogram to screen for breast cancer, I also booked an appointment for a preventative transvaginal ultrasound. That’s because my sister survived a bout with uterine cancer 40 years ago, and our family history could put me at risk of developing the same cancer.
