Melanoma Symptoms
Often the first sign of melanoma is a change in the way a mole looks. It is important to have your skin checked by a dermatologist or skin cancer specialist if you notice any change in the outline, shape, size, color or feel of an existing mole or if you spot a new dark mole. A mole or patch of skin that itches, oozes, or bleeds should also be checked by a doctor. These changes could be signs of melanoma, other types of skin cancer, a precancerous growth, or another skin condition.
