Below are a few speaking accomplishments from members of the Fox Chase Urologic Oncology surgical team.
Dr. Rosalia Vitbero, Dr. Robert Uzzo, and Dr. Alexander Kutikov Rosalia Viterbo, MD, FACS, Urologic Oncologist and Associate Professor in the Division of Urologic Oncology, Department of Surgical Oncology, was a featured speaker at the Curso de Actualization en Urologia- AUA 2017, a meeting of the Sociedad Argentina de Urologia (SAU)/American Urological Association (AUA) in September in Argentina. Dr. Viterbo spoke on the following topics: Laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, the Renal Hilar Mass, AUA Guidelines for localized prostate cancer, node dissections for bladder and renal cancers, and laparoscopic retroperitoneal LND.
Alexander Kutikov, MD, FACS, Professor and Chief of the Division of Urologic Oncology, Department of Surgical Oncology, was a featured speaker at the 14th Meeting of the EAU Robotic Urology Section (EROS) in September in Bruges, Belgium. He spoke on the state-of-the-art robotic partial nephrectomy procedure, highlighting the retroperitoneoscopic robotic technique that Fox Chase performs on patients with tumors on the backside of the kidney or for those for whom transperitoneal approaches are unfavorable. Robert G. Uzzo, MD, FACS, Urologic Oncologist and Chair of the Department of Surgical Oncology, involved in a number of events this year. These included being on the planning committee for the Société Internationale d’Urologie in Portugal and spoke on a number of topics including Advances in RCC Risk Prediction and Clinical Prognostic Factors, Cytoreductive Nephrectomy in the Era of TKIs, Optimizing Renal Function Following Surgery for Localized Kidney Cancer, and Lecture Tumor Complexity Scores.
At the ARTuR congress Dr. Uzzo was visiting lecturer and discussed the topic of surgical management of localized and advanced RCC as well as participating in a panel debate. At the Kidney Cancer Association, where Dr. Uzzo is also on the steering committee, he talk to the cost effectiveness in RCC.
In the last four month he also took part in talks at Moffitt, State of Science Workshop FDA meeting, and Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
