Phillie Phanatic Surprises Cancer Patients
-
Although we’re in the midst of winter and spring training for the Philadelphia Phillies still a few months away, the teams’ well-loved mascot, the Phanatic, warmed the hearts of patients, caregivers and staff when he made a surprise visit to Fox Chase Cancer Center on Friday, December 19, 2014. His enthusiasm was in full swing as he jumped up onto registration desks and made a visit into the infusion room where he posed for photos. His antics continued as executives at Fox Chase “yelled foul” as he interrupted their meetings.
“We are incredibly appreciative to the Phillies organization for arranging for the Phanatic to visit our patients,” said J. Robert Beck, MD, Senior Vice President, Fox Chase Cancer Center. “It truly lifts their spirits during the holiday season and gives them something fun to focus on while they are confronting a serious illness.”
