The overall goal of the CRC-SPORE is to bring innovation to patient care for prevention, diagnostics, and novel therapeutics to ultimately reduce the burden from CRC and improve patient outcomes. The proposal addresses important aspects of colorectal cancer biology using clinical samples with each project bringing innovative approaches for early detection, prevention, and/or new therapeutic strategies including a clinical trial of a new first-in-class drug to treat metastatic disease. In addition, the CRC-SPORE is expected to continuously evolve, develop productive collaborations including with industry, make scientific discoveries, and bring novel clinical research protocols to impact on the future care of CRC patients.
