PHILADELPHIA (September 14, 2020) — Fox Chase Cancer Center will present its signature fundraising event, In Vino Vita, on Friday, October 2, 2020, from 7–8 p.m. In order to maintain appropriate health and safety precautions, the 2020 gala was moved from its original spring date and will be held virtually for the first time in its seven-year history.

PHILADELPHIA (September 1, 2020) – September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness month. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), prostate cancer is the most common cancer (aside from skin cancer) in American men. For 2020, the ACS is estimating approximately 191,130 new cases and nearly 33,330 deaths from prostate cancer.

PHILADELPHIA (August 31, 2020)—In a recent study, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center identified agents that can specifically target the histone-dependent route of PARP-1 activation. This novel approach appears to be able to target cancer cells better than traditional NAD-like PARP-1 inhibitors and could have potential for developing new treatments for urologic tumors.

PHILADELPHIA (August 28, 2020)—In a recently published study, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University investigated whether the use of next-generation sequencing and primary tumor characteristics could help better predict the efficacy of immunotherapy.

Although much research has been conducted on smoking cessation in general, programs are not designed to help underserved mothers quit the habit long term.
