PHILADELPHIA (February 2, 2017) – Eric D. Tetzlaff, MHS, a physician assistant at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) for his outstanding contributions to patient care and the profession. 

PHILADELPHIA (February 1, 2017) – A board-certified radiation oncologist, Howell will start at Fox Chase on February 1, 2017.

PHILADELPHIA (January 31, 2017) – A team of researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center has found that stroma – a tumor-associated niche containing noncancerous cells and extracellular proteins – carries a cellular signature indicating whether it is likely to promote or restrict the tumor’s growth. 

PHILADELPHIA (January 20, 2017) – A team of researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center found that, despite the recommendation of screening guidelines, less than half of adults younger than 50 years old who have colorectal cancer are being screened for Lynch Syndrome, a genetic anomaly that increases the risk of colorectal and several other forms of cancer.

PHILADELPHIA (January 11, 2017) ― Recognizing a critical need to improve national vaccination rates for the human papillomavirus (HPV), Fox Chase Cancer Center has again united with each of the 69 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers in issuing a joint statement in support of recently revised recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

PHILADELPHIA (January 9, 2017) – Martin J. Edelman, MD, a nationally renowned expert in the research and treatment of lung cancer, has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center as Chair of the Department of Hematology/Oncology and as deputy cancer center director for clinical research. He will start on February 6, 2017.

PHILADELPHIA (January 4, 2017) – January is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, and Fox Chase Cancer Center is raising awareness about risk factors and signs of ovarian cancer.
