PHILADELPHIA (November 7, 2024) — Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Lorenzo Galluzzi, PhD, as an Associate Professor with tenure in the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment Research Program.

Aggon, DO, FACOS, an Associate Professor in the Division of Breast Surgery within the Department of Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was recently presented with an Earth Angel Award during an event celebrating the 7th year of Main St., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting breast cancer patients in Bucks County. The Earth Angel Awards honor individuals who have contributed significantly to the local breast cancer community in Bucks County.

PHILADELPHIA (October 15, 2024) — Fox Chase Cancer Center has been named Philadelphia’s first Comprehensive Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence by the Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).

PHILADELPHIA (October 10, 2024) — TREX1, a gene previously associated with autoimmune diseases, has been linked to small cell lung cancer. The discovery by Fox Chase Cancer Center scientists is a step toward understanding why this aggressive cancer is so resistant to treatment.

“We don’t think it’s the same thing,” said Wei, who conducted the study with colleagues from Fox Chase and researchers from other institutions. “The molecular alteration is different, the morphology is different, and the clinical behavior is different. It’s a different tumor.”
