PHILADELPHIA (October 22, 2019) – Fox Chase Cancer Center announces the hiring of Israel Cañadas, PhD, who will join the Blood Cell Development and Function Program as an assistant professor on November 1, 2019.

PHILADELPHIA (October 21, 2019) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Christian A. Koch, MD, PhD, FACP, who will join the Department of Medicine, Section of Endocrinology, as director and professor. Koch comes to Fox Chase from the University of Tennessee, Memphis, where he served as clinical professor.

PHILADELPHIA (October 21, 2019) – New research from Fox Chase Cancer Center has found that longer delays to surgery in women with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) predicted a higher risk of invasive ductal carcinoma and a slightly worse survival rate.

PHILADELPHIA (October 14, 2019) — Richard J. Bleicher, MD, FACS, has been awarded the 2020 Jamie Brooke Lieberman Remembrance Award from Susan G. Komen^® Philadelphia for his work in the breast cancer community.

PHILADELPHIA (October 11, 2019) — Fox Chase will walk alongside pancreatic cancer survivors, their loved ones, caregivers, and researchers on Saturday, November 2 to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and patient services.

Hundreds of dog lovers gathered on Sunday, Oct. 6th to celebrate Paws for the Cause, now in its 20th year,  and raise money for cancer research at Fox Chase. Hosted by the Board of Associates, the one-mile walk around the Fox Chase main campus featured pups disguised as sports players, barnyard animals, superheroes and monsters, as they tried out their costumes in preparation for Halloween.

PHILADELPHIA (October 3, 2019) – No associations between location of the tumor and risk for death or tumor recurrence were found. These data do not change how patients with retroperitoneal sarcomas would be treated, but do provide clinicians with a better understanding of the disease.
