PHILADELPHIA (December 14, 2017) – Nearly ten percent of eligible women in a recent study did not receive radiation therapy after breast conservation surgery, although it is proven to reduce the risk of recurrence. 

PHILADELPHIA (December 14, 2017) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason A. Incorvati, MD, who will join the Department of Hematology/Oncology as an assistant professor, and will treat patients at the new Fox Chase Cancer Center East Norriton Hospital Outpatient Center and also see breast cancer patients at the main Fox Chase campus, beginning January 1st, 2018.

PHILADELPHIA (December 10, 2017) – According to a new study, autologous hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) administered in first remission led to longer overall survival in younger patients with mantle cell lymphoma. Researchers found that patients who received HCT once initial chemotherapy had caused remission experienced a 40 percent improvement in progression free survival and more than 20 increase in overall survival compared with eligible patients who did not receive it.

PHILADELPHIA (December 7, 2017) – A small, but significant proportion of patients with invasive breast cancer have at least one of three biomarkers linked to immune check point blockade (ICB) therapy, suggesting a role for such treatment for certain breast cancers, a new study shows.
