PHILADELPHIA (January 23, 2020) –  The mission of the ASMB is to promote basic, translational, and clinical research on the extracellular matrix, the noncellular portion of tissue that provides structural and biochemical support to surrounding cells.

PHILADELPHIA (January 22, 2020) – In the first published study since the market release of robot-assisted bronchoscopy, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center have found the technology to be safe, feasible, and reliable for achieving diagnoses for lung cancer.

PHILADELPHIA (January 20, 2020) – Claudia J. Kasales, MD, MHA, FACR, who will be joining the Department of Diagnostic Imaging as a professor on the academic clinician track. She will begin work at Fox Chase on February 1, 2020.

PHILADELPHIA (January 16, 2020)—An eight-year multicenter trial to study how often and how fast pancreatic cysts progress to cancer is launching today. Fox Chase Cancer Center serves as the headquarters for the project, although the trial is open to participation at hundreds of sites around the country.

PHILADELPHIA (January 14, 2020) – Johnathan R. Whetstine, PhD, a program leader for the Cancer Epigenetics Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was awarded the American Lung Association’s Lung Cancer Discovery Award, a $100,000 grant to research epigenetic factors affecting lung cancer.

PHILADELPHIA (January 7, 2020) – Jeffrey Farma, MD, FACS, chief of the Division of General Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was elected to the Board of Trustees by the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. One of 14 trustees to be elected, Farma was selected to serve as Surgical Specialty Trustee for a term of four years.

PHILADELPHIA (January 7, 2020) – Using data from the largest national adjuvant clinical trial in kidney cancer conducted to date, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center have developed a novel classification system for local recurrence after surgery for renal cell carcinoma.
