Eric M. Horwitz, MD, FABS, FASTRO, is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Horwitz is dedicated to developing and integrating sophisticated technology into successful treatments for cancer patients and is a leading expert in the use of Adaptive Radiation Therapy through ETHOS. Fox Chase is leading clinical trials for prostate cancer, cervix cancer, and oligometastatic disease targeting specific lymph nodes – using Adaptive Radiation Therapy – and Horwitz can speak to the implementation of this technology and how it allows a patient’s radiation treatment to be adjusted in real time to accommodate changes in the body such as tumor shrinkage and/or the position of the adjacent normal organs. Keywords: prostate cancer patients treated with external beam radiation and brachytherapy, image guidance techniques for prostate cancer radiation, new bladder preservation techniques to treat patients with muscle invasive bladder cancer, urethral cancer, penile cancer, ureteral cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer

Joshua E. Meyer, MD, FASTRO, is a Professor and Vice Chair of Translational Research of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Meyer is an expert in gastrointestinal radiation. His treatment focus includes adaptive radiation, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), re-irradiation, and pulsed low dose rate (PLDR) radiation. Meyer will present, “PLDR CHEMORADIATION FOR ESOPHAGEAL AND LUNG CANCER IS ASSOCIATED WITH LOW RATES OF SEVERE ESOPHAGITIS,” Tuesday Sept. 30, 2:30-3:45 p.m. in Hall F, during the Poster Q & A - Gastrointestinal Cancer, Nonmalignant Disease, Palliative Care. Meyer has been named a 2025 ASTRO Fellow. Keywords: anal cancer, colorectal cancer, liver, gall bladder & bile duct cancer, stomach (gastric) cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer

Rebecca Shulman, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Shulman is an expert in stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), hypofractionated radiation therapy, ultra hypofractionated radiation therapy, re-irradiation, brachytherapy, oligometastatic treatment. Shulman is the senior author on the ASTRO abstract, “Re-Irradiation of Locally Recurrent Retroperitoneal Sarcomas Using CT-Adaptive Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy.” She will be available to discuss how the team treated patients using Fox Chase’s ETHOS adaptive radiotherapy platform, which enables real-time re-planning based on patient's daily anatomical changes. This approach allowed them to safely avoid the bowel and deliver precise, ablative doses to the tumor. Furthermore, there were no significant acute toxicities observed, and no patients demonstrated disease progression on CT or MRI imaging six months post-treatment. Maryanne Lubas, DO, will present on Sunday, Sept. 28 between 2:30 – 4: p.m. in Hall F, during the Poster Q & A - Radiation and Cancer Physics, Sarcoma and Cutaneous Tumors. Keywords: radiation oncology, sarcoma and connective tissue radiation oncology, breast radiation oncology
